Projects: Bauer Residence, Elwood
This is a striking home from any angle inside and out. Much careful planning went into this project by owner, architect and builder prior to stepping on site. The travertine spine wall starts in the front yard and runs almost the full length of the house. With a lane running along the east boundary car access is gained to a rear garage, also eastern light and ventilation is taken advantage of in both ground and first floor rooms. The over sized solid front door is on a pivot and allows for a seemless floor from outside to inside and a very generous entrance. Double glazed aluminium composite windows and doors, a range of different external claddings, recycled Blackbutt secret nailed flooring, Blackbutt decking and first floor cladding treatment, floor to ceiling tiles to wet areas, cabinetry finished in 2 Pac and with self closing doors and drawers and stone tops. With a second living area upstairs spilling onto a north facing balcony this is a very comfortable, stylish and well resolved home. |
